The Hotel

The Palace

Authentic period décor will welcome and envelop you. Drawing rooms and salon segue into one another, lake views appearing as if by magic at every turn. This is a grand hotel dating to the Belle Époque after all…

Something you find only at a grand hotel from the Belle Époque so don’t let this surprise you.

Sala musica

This is the lounge next to the T Bar. And it’s so inviting and colourful that on cooler nights it’s only natural to sip a drink seated on the brightly hued sofas decorating it.

A play of fuchsia, lime and purple: bold décor, a touch of modernity in a room expressing Lake Como’s timeless charm in every detail. Such as the old silk hangings on the walls: hand-worked designs for the historic scarves made by the Ratti silk-works, the oldest and most exclusive in the Como area. Here you find beauty everywhere…

Sala regina

It’s grand, it’s majestic… Sala Regina is the venue each morning for a buffet breakfast and leads straight to the large terrace of the restaurant. When required, it becomes a reception room seating up to 150 people.

A splendid room: period furniture, décor in blues and gold, and above all, soaring windows framing it on two sides. Truly regal.

Sala contessa

The fascinating former winter dining room is now the perfect spot for dinners and small private receptions. It is warm and elegant, playing each time with fine napery and candlelight to create a thousand subtle nuances and an atmosphere that makes a dinner unforgettable. It might be the coffered ceiling, the fireplace, or the tinkle of silverware and crystal… and certainly the picture windows overlooking the lake. An incomparable panorama, an enchantment from times gone by.

Sala biliardo

All in red, discreet and cosy but embellished with elegant touches and marvellous period pieces, this room contains a billiards table from the 1800s, which obstinately continues to allure whoever passes by it…

So it’s only natural to pick up a cue and try for a cannon as the balls make deft trajectories on the scarlet felt. Aristocratic, blasé, with a definitely wicked aura… A gamble, a citation. Pure fun.

Sala lettura

Could a reading room be lacking in a vintage hotel where Grand Tour travellers once stayed? A hundred years ago guests browsed here through Le Figaro, The Times, La Prensa, L’Illustration Française… (an unheard of luxury at the time).

Today, serving XXI century travellers you find an Internet Point and, like long ago, international newspapers, every day, in real time. The little library grows each year with foreign books donated by guests. One shelf is entirely devoted to books on gardens: a tribute to this hotel’s passion for greenery and gardens, as is clear from the myriad plants and flowers in the park.
