The park

The Grand is nestled in an expansive and beautiful park. Spanning some 20,000 sqm, it is one of the largest on the Lake, and not to mention one of the most magical. Dating back centuries, the land used to belong to Villa Carlotta and its spectacular botanic garden, planted with a variety of the rarest plants and trees.

Make sure you find the time to wander around and discover just how wonderful nature can be.

Fragrant flowerland

A true treat for plant lovers. Rare magnolias stand beside leafy palm and banana trees; azaleas, tulips and geraniums mix with rhododendron and hydrangea in a blaze of pinks, reds, purples and blues. A wonderful spectacle for all the senses that evolves with the moods of the Lake.

Olives galore

Typically grown on the hills surrounding the Lake, olive trees have been part of the Palace landscape for centuries. With over 300 trees in our grove, there’s amble space for you to wander under the shade of the silvery leaves and soak up the truly Italian atmosphere.

Panoramas everywhere

Picturesque footpaths wind gently through the natural beauty, ideal for a morning jog or afternoon stroll. As you ascend, the lake view slowly expands in front of you, until you reach the Belvedere at the top where the full panorama will take your breath away.

Bobo the bear

Sitting at the top of the Park, our mascot Bobo the bear is waiting to cuddle our guests – whatever your age.
