Villa Passalacqua

The highest symbol of aristocratic charm on Lake Como.

One of the most beautiful 18th century “pleasure villas” in Lombardy, Villa Passalacqua conceals artistic treasures of such magnitude that it has been named a national monument. The Neoclassical façade, splendid gardens and frescoed vaults will take you back to the hedonistic getaways of times gone by combined with the contemporary excellence of the Grand.

An icon of history and art

The pastel tones adorning the classical spaces are the perfect accompaniment to frescoes by the school of Andrea Appiani – one of the greatest artists of the time – and the grand staircase. The luncheon rooms, music room and billiard room are also all characterized by frescoed ceilings, stuccoes and impressive period furniture.

This timeless atmosphere has played host to history’s greats, including Napoleon Bonaparte, Vincenzo Bellini and Winston Churchill. Between 1829 and 1833, Vincenzo Bellini even composed his famed operas Norma and Sonnambula here.

The suites

Villa Passalacqua boasts nine exclusive suites in the main building, complemented by an additional four in Villa Bellini. Each suite has its very own private bathroom bedecked with contemporary fittings. The Villa can be rented out as a whole, offering your closest friends and family an experience where exclusivity means history, culture, art and nature.

The gardens

The Villa is surrounded by a spectacular period garden featuring an 18th century glasshouse, heated pool and private mooring. Gently descending towards the waters, the terraces hide a secret: over 1000 sqm of underground corridors and cellars connecting the Villa to the shores of the Lake.
