Privileging the local—from Nebbiolo wines to ravioli di zincarlin (asparagus and truffle, as lombardo as it gets)—is the remit at L’Escale. This is where to find your veal cutlet alla milanese and grilled fiorentina steak, along with salumi platters and much more. Oh, and 1,300-plus bottles, which our sommeliers can’t wait to tell you about.
Cantina vibes, with views
The mood is casual-chic, the spaces inviting; our veranda with its prime Bellagio views is perfect on warm high-summer evenings, and the vaulted ceilings and enoteca mood of the dining room are ideal all year round. Or, eat at the bar, with its long back window overlooking the lake, and enjoy both.
An Italian discovery journey, in a glass (or two)
The wine list is an oeno-explorer's dream: entirely and exclusively Italian, with much of the cellar dedicated to boutique and cult producers of limited-edition, exceptional-quality vintages by celebrated vinters from the Sud Tirol to Mount Etna in Sicily.
